Gladden

Life is short, and we do not have much time to gladden the hearts of those who are traveling the dark journey with us. Oh, be swift to love. make haste to be kind.

-Attributed to Henri-Frederic Amiel

In this time of grieving the death of my mom, so many memories of her kindness were shared with us. It's good for my soul to recall again the importance of gladdening another's path. This morning I read about a professor who blesses her students at the end of each semester with words that go something like this - Oh my friends, life is so, so short...and during our hours, days, and years here, may we be in this glorious world in such a way that we will gladden, heal, repair, and generally make lovelier the everyday existence of others.

May these words bless you as well.

Peace,

Ruth
